The idea is to have a single piece of wood and each time only one tool and a device to produce a bowl. Each result will look very differently compared to the others depending on the tools being used. The object will reflect the process of making.
1# the first bowl is made with a saw and copper wire. The wood is being cut into slices with the saw. two of these are sawn into half and create the sides. the copper wire which is bound around the bowl holds it together.
2# the bowl on the second picture is made by a center bit and a drill. The drillings getting deeper and deeper in the middle, creating the terrace like shape of the bowl.
3# the bowl on the third picture is made by turnery lathe.
4# the fourth bowl is made by hammer and nail. The nails are hammered into the wooden plate in a grid. Creating a bowl shape by hammering the ones in the middle deeper into the wood than the ones on the outer lines.
5# the fifth bowl is being made with a chisel and a hammer. The rough surface result from the process of broaching.
